R.I.S.E. Up To A New Level Of Sleep Wellness
The theme for this year's World Sleep Day, March 13th, is all about the importance of sleep on your health and wellbeing - Sleep Well, Live Better.
As the mornings get lighter, you may be finding it easier to spring out of bed. This time of year is great for capitalising on the brighter mornings; resetting your circadian rhythms to boost your sleep wellbeing. Or, for those of you who still need a little help waking up on the right side of the bed, we are here to help!
Based on research from sleep experts, we have created 'R.I.S.E.', an informed framework aimed at promoting improved sleep.

THE R.I.S.E. Routine
R.I.S.E. is a simple sleep routine that’s suitable for all, consisting of some cost-free techniques that can help you to manage your sleep well-being. By practising the R.I.S.E. routine for just a week with consistency and patience, you could feel the benefit to not only your sleep quality but also your overall well-being.
What does r.i.s.e. mean?
Reinforce your circadian rhythm. A circadian rhythm is a natural, internal process that regulates your sleep/wake cycle and repeats every 24 hours. There are a variety of benefits to waking up at a fixed time every day, including keeping your digestive system and metabolism in balance.
Invite light into your room; throw the curtains wide or roll those blinds up. You should do this as soon as possible in the morning – it is scientifically proven to improve sleep quality and overall well-being.
Spend time outside each day. Good sleep health starts in the day - just five minutes could have a profound effect on your mental health, making it easier to wind down at night.
Embrace dusk light. An evening walk, or simply taking in the dusk evening light by standing outside for 2-10 minutes, can help improve your sleeping pattern.

So, whether World Sleep Day prompts you to break a bad evening habit, follow the R.I.S.E sleep routine or even purchase a new bed, be sure that waking up in the right bed will definitely give you the best start to your day. It might even be life-changing, now there’s a thought!
