Project: The Other House - A Pioneering New Hospitality Concept In Apartment-style Living

The Other House, is a pioneering new hospitality concept shaped through a residential lens rather than a conventional hotel approach. Located on leafy Harrington Gardens, South Kensington, behind the impressive façade of 11 grand Victorian townhouses, this beautiful and boldly designed new destination offers guests the perfect city bolthole they can call their other house, no matter how long they stay.
The concept of apartment-style living, club facilities and hotel services on tap, with no membership required is alluring. As is the sharp focus on sustainability, which underpins every decision that is made. From the start, The Other House has been committed to sourcing products from verified environmentally friendly suppliers and supporting local artisans and craftsmanship.
“Sustainability is a global
conversation and conscious
consumers are seeking out and
supporting businesses which make
a positive environmental and social
impact. By making sustainable
choices, travellers can together
shape a greener future.”
Naomi Heaton, CEO and Founder of
The Other House
Guests have over 200 Club Flats to choose from, private meeting and dining rooms and exciting event spaces. The Private Club for residents includes two bars, a screening room and extensive wellness and wellbeing spaces, including a vitality pool, state-of-the-art gym and a meditation hub. There is even an all-day street café, The Other Kitchen, and a signature cocktail bar, The Owl and Monkey. A perfect destination for the wise owl who cares for the planet and curious monkeys who are looking for great experiences.
The Club Flats come in multiple configurations – all embracing the period architecture of the buildings they are within. From studio-style flats to three bedrooms, with options to interconnect two, three or four Club Flats all behind a single front door or around a private internal courtyard.
Furniture, fittings and fabrics throughout the Residents’ Club, from the front of house to the Club Flats, are from British design houses. The inspirational living spaces are dressed in a rich colour palette layered with velvets, British tweed and wool, and feature a panelled sitting room, fully equipped kitchen/diner, a bedroom and elegant shower room.
Carolyn Mitchell, Sales and Marketing Director at Hypnos Contract Beds adds, “Hypnos are delighted to be one of the environmentally vetted British manufacturers selected by The Other House to furnish each of the beautiful club flats. We believe the best way to protect our environment is to use materials that are truly sustainable and recyclable, so we source responsibly, sustainably and with traceability.
A good night’s sleep shouldn’t cost the Earth, so every bed
we make is not only designed for ultimate comfort; it is also
recyclable, so never needs to go to landfi ll. This long-standing
ethical approach is part of our Hypnos DNA. We are the first
UK bed manufacturer to become carbon neutral, an accolade we
achieved over a decade ago, and are extremely proud of.”
